The Chess game has started

So the All Nigerian Political Games(A.N.P.G) has begun, finally the kick off whistle has been blown, the strikers, the defenders and mid fielders are set and are running into their various positions to make sure they are not found wanting, all of a sudden the home team starts crying foul, the referee and the away- team look at each in confusion, what could have gone wrong? Lets pause this sad annoying story and move to Abuja, to the hallowed chambers of the legislative arm of our nation Nigeria, the 8th assembly to be precise, where they just elected their respective leaders, namely the senate president :Bukola Saraki of the Saraki political dynasty and his deputy: the sly fox Ekweremadu (who for the love of God was my greatest surprise- duracell spirit). As for the green chambers i barely know the new leaders,so i would focus more on the red chambers.

I had a little discussion with some friends as regards to the process that brought our new leaders in the senate, there has been a lot of mixed feelings, but we could all agree this was a loss for the Jagaban of Borgu( and yes i admire his political effectiveness).
Unless my facts are wrong, I believe this was a battle for the likes of Oshiomole and Ameachi who will be the next batch of APC political juggernaut, not Tinubu who has created an almost eternal office for himself and those loyal to him. I consider him(Tinubu) more astute than any other Nigerian political bigwig currently on the stage acting now. Whatever his reason for going on with the battle,i still wait to learn in the coming days, but one thing I am sure of is even though the party leadership has now chosen to accept the new senate leadership, some cracks and seeds of mistrust have been sown ;1st in the senate and  2nd in the parliament as a whole. The going ahead with the election even in the absence of their colleagues, knowing that they hadn't absconded the election yet; then the intra party trust in the APC-those loyal to the lion & those that could afford to dine with the PDP already (too early for party disloyalty). I am sure that they have officially drawn the battle lines clearly & i expect the effect to that action to surface some time in the future.

For now we wait,we watch and see the next moves on the chess board, from Buhari's cabinet  mix of technocrat and politicians, to the expected reduction in government & governance expenditure. Also on the chess board, governors making tough decisions across the nation, its is definitely going to be an awesome 100 days. Tick, tock, tick the clock is counting down on the new leadership of president Mohammed Buhari.
