New Beginging

New president, new month, new girl friend (laughs),the federal republic of Nigeria has come into a new dawn,a new season,a new awakening or so we hope. I hate to be the pessimist but we have been down this road many of times before, with each coup d'état, with each election, with each new president or military junta, each promising a new Nigeria,a new rising they say,it always ends up in the same way, each riddled with some form of corrupt story or head line of some sort.

So the question is where do  we as a people go from here, for once we were able to on-sit a ruling president appropriately for the 1st time without any military intervention, to explain how rare of an occurrence this event seemed for the Nigerian populace I heard of this conspiracy theory that before the handover date there was going to be a military take over, awesome joke? yes,but as funny as it sounds, many Nigerians would have believed the feasibility of such story very easily.
The ruling party has giving us the people a set of ideas, that they say will be the cardinal points of the new government i.e. reduction of unemployment through investment in agriculture, improving the power sector, cutting the cost of governance and their selling point(the cherry on the cake) eradicating corruption. Nice ideas don't you think? yes but my take, having those as cardinal points,we may end up the same way or worse end up in a deeper pit.

I would suggest that something, more eternal something that has to do with our moral compasses, something that goes beyond all the years the canker-worm of selfishness & chop-i- chop syndrome has gotten us to. we have had this songs sang to us in our nursery & primary schools to even when the super eagles want to play a match. The underlining message of our national anthem & pledge.that point we get to that service to the nation supersedes what we can get from the nation

my parting words will be what can we do for Nigeria, that should be our watch word now, knowing that our great nations needs more of deposits than withdrawals.
